Young Gifted and Talented Accredited Provider A GOOD WAY TO LEARN ABOUT SOMETHING IS TO TELL SOMEONE ELSE ABOUT IT. Our podcasting session enables students to take a subject, any subject at all, and create their own podcast around it. Whether you want to give a fun spin to revision, or allow students a new outlet for their creativity, podcasting empowers students by valuing their voices.

In a highly practical day, pupils will:
  • agree their approach to their topic
  • work out the structure of their podcast
  • research the subject, or spend some time composing the content
  • record their outcome with an MP3 recorder
  • edit their podcast and publish it on our website for others in the school and their parents to hear
No experience is required. They just need open minds and some parameters around what they are podcasting about.

rule

Who is it for?

It's for all students 7-14, but we also do a special "stretching" version for students identified as gifted.

rule

What's the relevance to the curriculum?

This event allows the teacher to completely customise the curriculum relevance. We bring the technology and the expertise in editing. You as the teacher can decide that the podcast will be about, for example:
  • research into a current history topic
  • a radio play, written by the students
  • interview/documentary material about the school itself

rule

Where does it happen and when?

It happens in your school as a face-to-face session. In particular we will need access to your ICT suite for parts of the day.

There are a few different options, but the important thing is that you set the schedule. You don't have to fit in with specific dates or struggle with clashes.

See the menu on the right for all the options.

How do I book?

Simply email tim@findthewhy.com or call 077 9960 8220 (leave a message if I'm teaching). I will find out all the information I need from you and we can organise a date that works.

See the menu on the right for all the options.
